Best Big 12 Player Drafted #45: Ryan Robertson, Kansas Jayhawks, by the Sacramento Kings in 1999.
I won't beat around the bush on this one. When I was at Mizzou, Robertson was Public Enemy #1. He hailed from just outside St. Louis, and opted to go to his in-state school's arch rival. Those are facts. If I think about it anymore my head might explode.
Other Notable Big 12 Players Drafted 45th: None (or else I would have selected them, regardless of who they were).
Best Non-Big 12 Player Drafted 45th: Loren Woods, Arizona Wildcats, by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2001.
Continuing the "I grew up in suburban St. Louis and didn't go to Mizzou" trend. OK, I'm over it.
In preparation for the 2011 NBA Draft, each day until June 23 we'll count down the best Big 12 player drafted with each pick. This list only takes into account players who played in the Big 12, so it starts with the 1997 draft. In total 70 Big 12 alumni have been selected, filling 43 of the 60 possible slots.
