Big 12 NBA Draft History: With the 48th Overall Pick...

Best Big 12 Player Drafted #48: Taylor Griffin, Oklahoma Sooners, by the Phoenix Suns in 2009.
Let's discuss what Taylor has done in his illustrious career.

1) Got baby brother Blake Griffin to commit to OU

2) Got baby brother to stay for his sophomore year in order to play with big bro one more year

Yeah, everything else is pretty much icing....

Other Notable Big 12 Players Drafted 48th: Chris Owens, Texas Longhorns, by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2006.

Best Non-Big 12 Player Drafted 48th: Marc Gasol, Akasvayu Girona (Spain), by the Los Angles Lakers in 2006.
It's Brother Day here at Big 12 Hoops!
Historical revisionists are great. When Marc was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for brother Pau Gasol, the entire NBA was up in arms claiming the Grizz stole big brother. And maybe they did, but look at the Grizz now, all thanks to 7'1" "little" Gasol. The future has a funny way of doing that to historians.

In preparation for the 2011 NBA Draft, each day until June 23 we'll count down the best Big 12 player drafted with each pick. This list only takes into account players who played in the Big 12, so it starts with the 1997 draft. In total 70 Big 12 alumni have been selected, filling 43 of the 60 possible slots.
