Big 12 Conference Basketball Power Rankings - Week 16

Not a whole lot of movement in the final week.

1. Kansas Jayhawks

Overall Record:  29-2
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 1 - No movement
What Matt Says: Kansas drew a tough draw in the Big 12 tournament despite grabbing the top seed: the Jayhawks probably have to face K-State and Texas if they want to win the conference tourney.

2. Kansas St. Wildcats

Overall Record:  22-9
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 2 - No movement
What Joe Says: Curtis Kelly is finally starting to look like player he was in last years NCAA Tournament, very good sign for Wildcats.

3. Texas Longhorns

Overall Record:  25-6
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 3 - No movement
What Matt Says: Texas could make things really interesting seeding-wise by winning Big 12 tourney by beating Kansas. Tough to justify Kansas ahead of a team that swept them.

4. Texas A&M Aggies

Overall Record:  23-7
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 5 - Up one spot
What Evan Says: If slow and steady wins the race, then A&M has a good shot at going far in the Big 12 Tournament

5. Missouri Tigers

Overall Record:  22-9
Last Week's Record:  0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 4 - Down one spot
What Evan Says: Not the best time to go on a downward spiral. The Tigers need a boost in the Big 12 Tournament to give them momentum in the Big Dance

6. Colorado Buffaloes

Overall Record:  19-12
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 6 - No movement
What Evan Says: The Buffs will sneak into the tournament with a strong showing in the Big 12 Tournament. They need to win at least two games to not sweat on Selection Sunday.

7. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Overall Record:  19-11
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 8 - Up one spot
What Joe Says: Guessing their last Big 12 tournament won't be one for the memory books.

8. Baylor Bears

Overall Record:  18-12
Last Week's Record: 0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 7 - Down one spot
What Matt Says: The Bears should start preparing for the NIT. A disappointing season for sure, but with more star-studded recruits in the pipeline I'll bet Scott Drew will be fine.

9. Oklahoma St. Cowboys

Overall Record:  18-12
Last Week's Results: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 9 - No movement
What Joe Says: Season has gone downhill for this squad with some off court issues affecting them.

10. Oklahoma Sooners

Overall Record:  13-17
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 11 - Up one spot
What Matt Says: After getting blown out by Texas Tech (really?), Oklahoma ended its 8 game losing streak with a much-needed win over that school from Stillwater.

T11. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Overall Record:  13-18
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 10 - Down one spot
What Evan Says: It might be is time for Pat Kinight to find a good realtor in Lubbock.

T11. Iowa St. Cyclones

Overall Record:  16-15
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 12 - Up one spot
What Joe Says: Maybe the best #12 seed ever in the Big 12 Tournament, interesting first game with Colorado.
