The Big 12 regular season is over and the seeds are set for the Big 12 Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, March 9 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, MO.
At 14-2 in conference, the Kansas Jayhawks secured their seventh straight conference title, and third consecutive number one seed. The Texas Longhorns finished 13-3 in conference and got the number two seed. At 10-6, the Texas A&M Aggies and Kansas St. Wildcats shared the third best record in the Big 12, with A&M receiving the third seed based on their January 22 victory over the Wildcats, who ended the season on a six game winning streak after being 4-6 in conference.
The Colorado Buffaloes are the fifth seed, followed by the Missouri Tigers at six, Baylor Bears at seven and Nebraska Cornhuskers at eight.
Rounding out the bottom third of the conference, the Oklahoma St. Cowboys received the ninth seed, Oklahoma Sooners the tenth, Texas Tech Red Raiders the 11th seed and the rebuilding Iowa State Cyclones got the 12th seed.
The conference will host four games on Wednesday, four games on Thursday, two on Friday and the championship game on Saturday.
