While Jacob Pullen hasn't quite lived up to Preseason All-American status he does deserve to get mentioned with how well he has played lately. In Big 12 conference play Pullen has essentially thrown the Wildcats on his back and carried them to a probable NCAA Tournament bid.
Everyone is familiar with the game at home against Kansas on Big Monday where he went off for 38 points but his performance in Lincoln on Wednesday night was almost just as impressive.
In a grind it out contest where both Nebraska and Kansas State were competing like crazy Pullen scored 27 points and went 10-11 from the free throw line. The previous game against Oklahoma he went 8-8 from the line in another 27 point effort.
So in the Wildcats mini three game win streak to put themselves above .500 in the conference for the first time this year Pullen is averaging 30.6 points per game while converting on 33 of 38 free throws.
Pullen and K-State face another big test this Saturday when Missouri rolls in for an early morning tip. If the last few games mean anything though K-State fans should feel pretty confident that Pullen has finally taken over the leadership role on this team.
