Texas A&M Vs. Oklahoma Preview: Two Streaks On The Line

The Texas A&M Aggies have won four straight games. The Oklahoma Sooners have lost five straight. So both streaks are on the line when the two teams match up tonight in Norman.

While A&M has been winning, it ain't been pretty. Including this one, the Aggies will have played the bottom five teams in the conference in consecutive games. And while they've escaped with a victory in each of their four previous affairs, their margin of victory is a slim three points per contest, leading to speculation - at least on my part - as to the Aggies' long term potential.

I have been getting a lot of heat for my A&M stance, but in my opinion the third ranked team in conference should be putting the bottom half of the conference away, not making players, coaches and fans alike sweat it out until the end. I can't knock the results, but the way they're getting there makes me wonder about their March potential.

As for the March potential of the Sooners, well... it is probably safe to say the coaches can go ahead and book their cruises or golf outings for the second week in March now. The Sooners are 12-14 on the season and 4-8 in conference. Though they're suffering through a drought, it has been mostly against some of the better teams in the conference, so it isn't anything they should be hanging their heads on.

As for tonight's game, I again have this feeling that A&M will win, and again have the feeling it will be by a basket or two.

Catch the game at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN3.com.
