Okay yet another full week of Big 12 conference basketball is upon us. So naturally let's take a look at the point spreads that Vegas has placed on these games and make our predictions.
As you can see below this has been a fluke year for me in picking against the spread as I am doing pretty good so far on games I have written about. I told my wife that another week of going 5-1 against the spread and it would be an investment, not a loss, to send me via Southwest to Las Vegas for a weekend in a sportsbook. So please let me do as well this weekend! Anyways onto my picks.
Game Spreads and My Predictions Below.
MY CURRENT RECORD PICKING AGAINST THE SPREAD: 20-6
Missouri Tigers at Iowa State Cyclones - The Tigers are a 4.5 point favorite on the road.
MY PREDICTION: Really torn on this game as I watched a good portion of the Iowa State vs A&M game the other night and was impressed with the Cyclones while Missouri on the other hand has not been stellar on the road as you have probably heard ad nauseum. That being said I am going to pick the Tigers to win this game and cover the spread.
Texas Longhorns at Nebraska Cornhuskers - Longhorns are a 6.5 point favorite playing in Lincoln.
MY PREDICTION: Going to go with Texas to butt whoop Nebraska out of the Big 12 in basketball the same way they did in football. I like the Longhorns to not only win this game but easily cover the spread.
Colorado Buffaloes at Kansas Jayhawks - The Jayhawks are a 15.5 point favorite over the Buffs.
MY PREDICTION: A very big line as is to be expected with an angry KU team coming back to the friendly confines of Allen Fieldhouse. I am going to say KU wins this game but CU somehow does not let them cover.
Oklahoma Sooners at Kansas State Wildcats - The Wildcats are a 13.5 point favorite over the slumping Sooners.
MY PREDICTION: Too big of a line for me to jump on with this K-State team. They may prove me wrong but after the season KSU has had and the huge win they are coming off of I am expecting a letdown. While I expect K-State to win this game somehow I don't think they cover.
Texas Tech Red Raiders at Baylor Bears - Baylor is a 12.5 point favorite at home.
MY PREDICTION: Plain and simple I expect the Bears to win this game and cover this spread as I think Tech will give up after their close loss to Missouri on the road.
Texas A&M Aggies at Oklahoma State Cowboys - Closest line of the day by far in this one as the Cowboys are a 1 point favorite at home.
MY PREDICTION: Well even though I picked A&M in the predictions we have on Big 12 Hoops I have to change my tune for my picks as I am going with the Cowboys to win and cover this spread. At the time of the predictions I liked A&M to win this game but just think now that Ok State will win this game.
