Kansas Vs. Texas Tech Preview: Guess Who Has Never Won In Lubbock?

The Texas Tech Red Raiders host the Kansas Jayhawks where KU head coach Bill Self is looking for his first win in Lubbock.

WAIT! Can that be right? Let's look at the past three matchups.

2009 - Tech's Alan Voskuil celebrated Senior Night by scoring a career-high 35 points in the 84-65 Red Raider win.

2007 - Darryl Dora scored 19 off the bench for TTU and Voskuil tipped in what proved to be the game winner with 32 seconds remaining to seal the 69-64 win.

2005 - Dora was again the hero, hitting a 3-point shot with 3.6 second left in double overtime to secure the 80-79 win for the 16th ranked Red Raiders over the 15th ranked Jayhawks. Martin Zeno led Tech with 24 points.

Flash forward to 2011, where sixth ranked Kansas is trying to finally win one for their coach at the United Spirit Arena. And it's not like Self doesn't know about the streak. "We've talked about it; we'll be excited to go down there, try to get a different result."

Another shocking thing about this game is that it is Tech, not KU, who is riding the longer win streak. With victories over Nebraska, Iowa State and Oklahoma State, Texas Tech is on a three game high. KU, who lost 10 days ago to Texas, has two consecutive victims to it's credit.

The game will also feature the reigning Big 12 Player and Rookie of the Week in Tech's Mike Singletary and KU's Josh Selby.

To earn the awards, Singletary finished the week averaging 29 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while Selby helped KU by putting in 14.5 points in the Jayhawks' two wins.
