Big 12 Basketball Power Rankings - Week 4

Other than Iowa State's 0-2 showing, it was a pretty quiet week in the Big 12. But we get louder this week as Mizzou, Ok State, K-State, ISU, OU and KU all have big games on the slate.

T1. Baylor Bears

Overall Record: 7-0
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: T1, same
What Nathan Says: They haven't missed a beat since Perry Jones III came back from his NCAA suspension. Thoroughly beat a possible tournament team in Northwestern in Evanston.

T1. Missouri Tigers

Overall Record: 7-0
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: T1, same
What Evan Says: Another blowout win. Another high scoring senior goes 7-10 from three. Tonight they play a down Nova squad at MSG in their first game outside of the state of Missouri, so we'll see.

3. Kansas Jayhawks

Overall Record: 5-2
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 3, same
What Nathan Says: Saturday's win over South Florida was the most complete game I've seen from Tyshawn Taylor so far. Can't wait to see the heavyweight bout between Sully and T-Rob Saturday in the Phog.

4. Texas A&M Aggies

Overall Record: 6-1
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 4, same
What E. Carnes Says: I think that learning to play — and win— without Khris Middleton will be a boon to the Aggies down the road. This weekend, A&M handled Stephen F. Austin 55-42, inflicting 28 points worth of damage in the paint.

T5. Texas Longhorns

Overall Record: 5-2
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 6, up one spot
What E. Carnes Says: When the guard combo of J'Covan Brown and Myck Kabongo is on, as they were in the Longhorns' 69-59 win over UCLA, they make the rest of the team play better.

T5. Kansas St. Wildcats

Overall Record: 5-0
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 7, up two spots
What Joe Says: Cats get a nice solid road win against an ACC opponent, next up Bob Huggins and future Big 12 team West Virginia.
.

7. Oklahoma St. Cowboys

Overall Record: 2-2
Last Week's Results: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 8, up one spot
What Evan Says: Squeaked by Tulsa and beat some schools named Langston... but more importantly their football team got hosed.

8. Iowa St. Cyclones

Overall Record: 5-3
Last Week's Record: 0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 5, down three spots
What Nathan Says: This was the most important week on the Cyclones' non-con slate and they failed to register a win. There's still time to turn the season around, but even one W vs Northern Iowa or Michigan would have done wonders.

9. Oklahoma Sooners

Overall Record: 5-1
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 9, same
What Evan Says: It was just Sacramento State, but the Sooners looked good in rolling the Hornets.

10. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Overall Record: 4-3
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 10, same
What E. Carnes Says: The Raiders edged by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in another quiet game from senior Robert Lewandowski. Tech faces TCU later this week in a matchup of future Big 12 conference mates.
