Big 12 Basketball Power Rankings - Week 3

It still seems like teams are trying to find themselves. One game they look good, the next, not so much. And scary for the conference is that our number one ranked team gets their best player back this week.

T1. Baylor Bears

Overall Record:  5-0
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 1, same
What Nathan Says: Almost a toss-up for the top spot after the week Missouri had, but Baylor gets Perry Jones III back tonight vs Prairie View A&M. Hopefully we'll see the Bears take off as well.

T1. Missouri Tigers

Overall Record: 6-0
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 3, up two spots
What Evan Says: All Mizzou has done in the past week is beat ND by 29, Cal by 39 and Kim English set a career-high while going 7-10 from three against Binghampton. I'd say they're looking pretty darn good.

3. Kansas Jayhawks

Overall Record: 3-2
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 2, down one spot
What Nathan Says: KU had a good week too as they made the championship game in Maui and then took Duke to the wire. I don't believe this team is rebuilding anymore.

4. Texas A&M Aggies

Overall Record:  4-1
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 4, same
What E. Carnes Says: A deep bench has helped the Aggies in Middleton's absence. It should be smooth sailing until they face Florida in mid December.

5. Iowa St. Cyclones

Overall Record: 5-1
Last Week's Record: 3-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: T6, up one spot
What Nathan Says: They have a mammoth of a game coming up this Saturday at Michigan. If they pull that one off, people will start to take notice of what's going on in Ames. .

6. Texas Longhorns

Overall Record: 3-2
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: T6, same
What E. Carnes Says: There was some very ugly basketball on display during the Longhorn's win over Sam Houston State on Saturday. Hopefully the young team can right the ship before they head to Los Angeles to face UCLA this weekend.

7. Kansas St. Wildcats

Overall Record:  3-0
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 8, up one spot
What Joe Says: One more tune-up against George Washington before facing some BCS schools in Virginia Tech & West Virginia

8. Oklahoma St. Cowboys

Overall Record:  3-2
Last Week's Results: 0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 5, down three spots
What Evan Says: Bad news, they went 0-2 at MSG. Good news, nothing to hang their heads on as they lost to decent teams.

9. Oklahoma Sooners

Overall Record: 4-1
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 9, same
What Evan Says: SLU is a decent squad, so that loss shouldn't sting.

10. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Overall Record: 3-3
Last Week's Record: 0-3
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 10, same
What E. Carnes Says: Tough week for the Raiders. They're coming off three losses to Indiana State, DePaul, and Wake Forest, which were all marked by turnovers and poor shot selection.
