How will the Missouri Tigers fare this season? What will their overall and Big 12 records be? Will they make a postseason tournament?
We'll answer all those questions, plus guess which teams they'll upset and which will upset them after The Jump.
2011-12 Mizzou Projected Record:
Evan Pfaff: 22-9
Nate Kotisso: 22-9
E. Carnes: 23-8
Matt Patton: 23-8
Upset Watch:
Surprise game Mizzou will win:
EP: Baylor at home. The Bears are very tall, and that's Mizzou's achillies heel, but the Tigers have a week to prepare for the saturday gae after Big Monday in Norman.
NK: @ Iowa State. The Cyclones will be better and will try to rekindle the days when Hilton Magic actually meant something. Iowa State will have to keep looking for the 'Magic' as they falter on this night. .
EC: Experience trumps talent in their first match-up with Baylor in Waco.
MP: at Baylor after a three game skid
Surprise game Missouri will lose:
EP: vs. Villanova in NYC. 'Nova won't be the 'Nova we've become accustomed to in recent years, but I don't see Mizzou traveling well to the East Coast.
NK: @ Texas. The senior-heavy Tigers will have a hiccup on the road as they lose to a young Longhorn team. .
EC: at Texas. Rick Barnes knows all of his former assistant coach’s tricks.
MP: at Iowa State to start a three game skid after a great non-conference schedule.
2011-12 Mizzou Projected Big 12 Record:
EP: 11-7
NK: 11-7
EC: 12-6
MP: 11-7
2011-12 MU Projected Big 12 Standing:
EP: Fourth
NK: Fourth
EC: Fourth, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to creep up a place or two. Especially if Baylor and A&M are inconsistent.
MP: Fifth.
2011-12 Mizzou Projected Postseason:
EP: NCAA. Can't get out of the Sweet 16 because of lack of size.
NK: NCAA Tournament berth, ousted in the second round (1st game)
EC: I can see them making a post-season run, when having an older, more experienced team is a real asset. I’ll say NCAA berth, but out in the first round.
MP: NCAA Tournament. Somewhere around a five seed with the Dance ending in the Sweet Sixteen.
