The sign being held up by the K-State student pictured above reading "The Beard is Back" was very on target tonight in Manhattan, KS as Jacob Pullen returned in his first action since his suspension for receiving improper benefits from a local department store. Any chance that Pullen would come out a tad bit rusty was squashed very early on by the preseason All American. The senior came out for Kansas State and scored 24 points on 9-11 shooting while also adding 5 assists and 3 rebounds. A welcome sight for Wildcat fans was the fact that Pullen finally started to hit some shots from three point range as he went 4-6 from deep to lead K-State to a 92-61 victory over visting Savannah State.
With fellow senior Curtis Kelly still suspended, Pullen must become the leader that Frank Martin has mentioned to the media he is looking for. At least tonight, albeit against inferior competition, Pullen looked like he is back to his old tricks.
