Tonight at 6 P.M. Central time the Wildcats of Kansas State will take on their in-state rival #6 ranked Kansas. While ESPN College Gameday is in Lawrence today, the actual game does not figure to warrant that kind of attention.
As most everyone knows by now, K-State entered the year as the pre-season favorite in the Big 12 to take down the Jayhawks but this had not turned out to be the case.
KU has jumped out to a 19-1 record while KSU has dropped to a still respectable 14-7 mark but one that is far short of expectations.
The Jayhawks appeared to be firing on all cylinders in their last game against Colorado getting some unexpected hot shooting from senior Brady Morningstar. Josh Selby had a strong shooting effort as well.
If K-State hopes to pull the major upset today they will need their senior leaders Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly to play their best games of the season. Role players such as Rodney McGruder and Will Spradling will also need to heat up from long range.
The atmosphere inside Allen Fieldhouse figures to be unique with the Thomas Robinson situation still fresh in everyone's mind.
Once again no matter who you cheer for in this one or who wins or loses we can all understand the game should be enjoyed but other things are more important.
