Big 12 Conference Basketball Power Rankings - Week 10

New, 17 comments

Lots of upsets + Lots of teams showing their true colors = Lots of movement in this week's Big 12 Hoops Power Rankings

1. Texas Longhorns

Overall Record:  16-3
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 2 - Up one spot
What Matt Says: Texas adds to an incredible resume with first ever win in Allen Field House on great play from J'Covan Brown.

2. Kansas Jayhawks

Overall Record:  18-1
Last Week's Record: 0-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 1 - Down one spot
What Matt Says: Lost incredible win streak to a very good Longhorns team. Felt like Jayhawks struggled with physicality.

3. Texas A&M Aggies

Overall Record:  17-2
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 3 - No movement
What Evan Says: The loss to Texas can be overlooked because it was in Austin and UT happens to be good. For A&M to go far this season, they will need a consistent compliment to Khris Middleton.

4. Missouri Tigers

Overall Record:  17-3
Last Week's Record:  1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 5 - Up one spot
What Evan Says: A week to think about Texas is a long time. Luckily they have lots of highlights from the Iowa State game to fill their time.

5. Baylor Bears

Overall Record:  13-5
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 9 - Up four spots
What Matt Says: Took care of Oklahoma State before getting bounced and a hideous game at Kansas State.

6. Kansas St. Wildcats

Overall Record:  13-7
Last Week's Record: 0-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 10 - Up four spots
What Joe Says: HAD to have the Baylor game. Their reward: a trip to face a KU team working on a new home court winning streak.

7. Oklahoma St. Cowboys

Overall Record:  14-5
Last Week's Results: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 8 - Up one spot
What Joe Says: Somehow survived at home against Iowa State. Very interested to see Texas come into Stillwater.

8. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Overall Record:  14-5
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 6 - Down two spots
What Joe Says: Lost at Texas Tech, nuff said.

T9. Colorado Buffaloes

Overall Record:  14-6
Last Week's Record: 0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 4 - Down five spots
What Evan Says: We knew they wouldn’t stay undefeated forever, but they need to start winning roads games to be considered elite in the conference.

T9. Oklahoma Sooners

Overall Record:  10-9
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 11 - Up two spots
What Matt Says: Went 2-0 on the week with wins over Texas Tech and Colorado!

11. Iowa St. Cyclones

Overall Record:  14-6
Last Week's Record: 0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 7 - Down three spots
What Joe Says: Can excuse the Missouri game after the OT loss at Stillwater and Missouri presents awful matchup for depleted Cyclone squad.

12. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Overall Record:  9-11
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 12 - No movement
What Evan Says: Looky here! Tech won a game! And they did it the ol’ fashioned way, with leadership and scoring from their seniors.
