Once A Bear, Always A Bear: Guard Gary Franklin Transfering From Cal To Baylor

Remaining a "Bear," freshman guard Gary Franklin has transferred from the California Golden Bears to the Baylor Bears.

Franklin had declared his intentions to transfer last week from Berkeley, and Baylor coach Scott Drew announced today that Franklin has already enrolled in classes in Waco.

Per NCAA rules, Franklin must sit out the remainder of this season, and the fall semester next season, before being able to suit up for Baylor and have three years of eligibility remaining.

The former four-star recruit played in 13 games this season for Cal where he averaged 8.2 points and two assists per game.

Coming out of Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA, the 78th ranked player in the class of 2010 was known as an aggressive player who was cool under pressure.

Franklin will be one of three high impact new faces on next year's Baylor squad, joining incoming freshmen Quincy Miller and Deuce Bello in green and gold.
