Big 12 Basketball Conference Power Rankings - Week 3

1. Kansas Jayhawks

Overall Record:  7-0
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 1 - No movement
What Matt Says: Undefeated (barely), but not invincible (read: too soft inside). Will get a real test from Memphis this week.

2. Baylor Bears

Overall Record:  6-0
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 2 - No movement
What Matt Says: Beating Arizona State was good, but the real test won't come until Gonzaga the 18th.

3. Kansas St. Wildcats

Overall Record:  8-1
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 3 - No movement
What Joe Says: This team needs Jacob Pullen to find his shooting touch before games against Florida & UNLV later this month. Will Wally Judge ever do anything for this team?

4. Missouri Tigers

Overall Record:  6-1
Last Week's Record:  1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 4 - No movement
What Evan Says: Not knocking the Tigers because of the overtime loss to Georgetown. Also not knocking them for sub-par play because they played seven games in 14 days and traveled 7000 or so miles.

5. Texas A&M Aggies

Overall Record:  7-1
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 7 - Up two spots
What Evan Says:  7-1, but the true tests comes Saturday at home vs. Washington.

6. Texas Longhorns

Overall Record:  6-2
Last Week's Record: 1-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 5 - Down one spot
What Matt Says: Things felt too good to be true until Texas got run out of the building by a bad USC team. Longhorns have to keep focus.

7. Oklahoma St. Cowboys

Overall Record:  7-1
Last Week's Results: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 8 - Up one spot
What Joe Says:. Team found a way to win against LaSalle on the road, good sign for Travis Ford. Not sure how good of a team they are yet.

8. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Overall Record:  6-2
Last Week's Record: 2-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 7 - Down one spot
What Joe Says: Can't say I saw that win coming over USC but it's a good sign for this team. Now some easy wins sit right in front of them on the schedule.

9. Iowa St. Cyclones

Overall Record:  7-2
Last Week's Record: 1-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 6 - Down three spots
What Joe Says: It appears this team will scrap this year but Hoiberg just doesn't have the players yet. Scott Christopherson is fun to watch shoot the 3 ball.

10. Colorado Buffaloes

Overall Record:  4-3
Last Week's Record: 1-0
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 11 - Up one spot
What Evan Says:  Two wins in a row and some pretty smooth waters ahead until conference play begins.

11. Texas Tech Red Raiders

Overall Record:  5-4
Last Week's Record: 0-1
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 10 - Down one spot
What Evan Says: Senior leadership, check. Favorable schedule, check. Wins, *BUZZER SOUND*.

12. Oklahoma Sooners

Overall Record:  3-5
Last Week's Record: 0-2
Last Week's Ranking/Movement: 12 - No movement
What Matt Says: The Sooners have lost five straight. They turn the ball over too much and don't get to the line.
