Well one thing is for sure about the Iowa State this year, they won't go down without a fight. The Cyclones fell at home today to the California Golden Bears by a score of 76-73.
The Cyclones fell behind early in the game with Cal at one time leading by as many as ten points before Iowa State came back to take a slim 1 point lead of 39-38 into the locker room at halftime. The game remained close throughout the second half but Iowa State just could never get over the hump in this one.
Scott Christopherson for Iowa State, who was nursing an ankle injury, shot the ball outstanding from deep as he connected on 7-13 three pointers to finish with 25 points. Jake Anderson finished with 16 points but on 4-15 shooting.
The Bears were led by Harper Kamp who finished with a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The loss is Iowa State's second straight and their first loss in Hilton Coliseum this season. Their next game is against Southeast Missouri State on Monday night in Ames.
