It was a big week for Big 12 alumni in the NBA, especially on Christmas Day, but after all the votes were tallied, the Big 12 NBA Player of the Week is Denver Nuggets forward Chauncey Billups.
The former Colorado Buffalo came off a wrist injury which shelved him for three games to average 25 points per game, aided by 19 for 19 from the free throw line for the week. The "Thrill From Park Hill" also averaged five assists and 1.5 steals for the week.
In a close vote, Billups edged out Texas Longhorns Kevin Durant, who scored 44 against Chauncey's Nuggets on Christmas Day, and LaMarcus Aldridge who averaged 22 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for the week.
