Eight Big 12 Teams in Action on Saturday

New, 10 comments

It's a busy day of college basketball in the Big 12 with 8 teams in action. The marquee game of the day is in College Station as #22 Washington plays their first true road game against Texas A&M. Read below for a quick preview of this contest along with the other games going on today & tonight.
(All times listed are CST)

TCU @ Nebraska (1 P.M. Fox Sports Midwest) - The Horned Frogs look to take down another Big 12 opponent after defeating Texas Tech 81-77 on Wednesday night. The Huskers will need to stop Sammy Yeager for TCU, he had 23 points and 9 boards in the win over the Red Raiders. Nebraska looks to move their record at home to 7-0 on the season.

Oral Roberts @ Oklahoma (2 P.M.) - Another opportunity for Oklahoma to grab a win in the non conference. OU got back in the victory column in their last game against Gardner Webb and look to move their record to 5-5.

Texas State @ (25) Texas - (3 P.M.) - This should be an old fashioned demolition as Texas looks to gain some momentum after taking a pounding in their last game against USC. Look for the result of this game to be much like last years contest which was a Texas 87-54 win.

(5) Kansas State @ Loyola (IL) (3 P.M. Fox Sports Kansas City) - The Wildcats travel to Chicago to play Loyola, a game scheduled to allow senior Jacob Pullen an opportunity to play back in his hometown. Even though Kansas State should win this game by double digits keep an eye on this one as Loyola should be pumped with a Top 5 opponent entering their gym for only the 2nd time in their history.

(22) Washington @ Texas A&M (3:30 P.M. ESPN2) - What a test for the Aggies as Washington comes into the game as the highest scoring team in Division 1 averaging 95.5 points a game. Khris Middleton needs to step up and have a good day shooting the ball and David Loubeau needs to establish himself early in this one. If no one has ever watched the Huskies before try to keep your eye on PG Isaiah Thomas, he is a playmaker.

Presbyterian @ (11) Missouri (4 P.M.) - Well luckily for Tiger fans their heart should be able to relax today as no last second heroics should be needed from Marcus Denmon. Even though Presbyterian gave K-State a scare earlier this year, don't expect a similar result in Columbia today. Keep an eye on Denmon as in the last three games he is averaging over 22 points a contest.

(4) Kansas vs. Colorado State (5:30 P.M. ESPN2) - This game will be held at a "neutral site" in Kansas City's Sprint Center. Coming off a game against Memphis where KU committed some turnovers you don't normally see, look for a much crisper performance from Bill Self's squad today. Keep an eye on CSU senior Andy Ogide who stands 6'9" and is averaging 17.5 points and 8 rebounds a game, we'll see how he stacks up against Marcus & Markieff Morris along with Thomas Robinson down low.

Missouri State @ Oklahoma State (7 P.M.) - The Cowboys look to push their record out to 9-1 with a win over the visiting Bears out of the Missouri Valley Conference. Marshall Moses has been on a tear lately with back to back 30 point efforts in wins over LaSalle and Tulsa.
