Battling a lingering illness and distraught as his grandmother battled a terminal illness, Cole Aldrich wasn't the same fun-loving goofball he had been during first two months of the season.
His lungs and his mind finally clear, the big fella is starting to enjoy himself again.
Aldrich dominated Missouri inside with 12 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocked shots, helping No. 2 Kansas run over the rival Tigers 84-65 Monday night.

The cure for Kansas State guard Jacob Pullen's shooting woes: watching film and a talk from coach Frank Martin.
Pullen scored 25 points, with six 3-pointers and the game-winning free throws Tuesday night as No. 11 Kansas State beat No. 24 Baylor 76-74 to end the Bears' school-record 11-game home winning streak.
"It was no big deal to me," Pullen said of his slump. "It was mental and mechanical. I felt great, like I got back into my rhythm."

With its top two scorers injured and in street clothes, Oklahoma built a big lead, then held on to beat Iowa State 89-84 Wednesday night behind Tommy Mason-Griffin and Cade Davis.
Mason-Griffin scored 38 points and Davis added 24 for the Sooners (12-8, 3-3 Big 12), who are 10-0 at home and 2-8 on the road.

Texas got some unexpected scoring from guards Justin Mason and Dogus Balbay, and the No. 6 Longhorns beat Texas Tech 95-83 on Wednesday night to avoid a three-game losing streak.
Mason scored 18 points and Balbay had 13. The two went into the game averaging just more than seven points between them.

Alec Burks scored 21 points, hitting 3-of-4 free throws down the stretch, and Colorado beat Nebraska 72-60 Wednesday night to keep the Cornhuskers winless in Big 12 play.
Christian Standhardinger had 14 points off the bench to lead Nebraska (12-8, 0-5). None of the Cornhuskers' starters scored in double figures.
