Previewing Wednesday's Big 12 Action

New, 2 comments

Four conference games are on tonight's Big XII docket.

Texas A&M at Oklahoma St. 6:30pm CT ESPN2

Oklahoma St. gets a prime-time, national audience after knocking off red-hot K-State in Manhattan last Saturday. Texas A&M is coming off an unimpressive W over Colorado. If the Aggies have any shot at winning this game, they need to limit James Anderson's scoring output, something which no Big 12 school has been able to do this year. It's a tall task, but if Donald Sloan can find his rhythm A&M has a snowball's chance in hell legitimate shot at winning the game.

Texas Tech at (6) Texas 8pm CT ESPNU

You kinda don't want to be Texas Tech tonight. Maybe fake an injury or miss your flight. You are facing a team that last week was undefeated and ranked number 1 in the country for the first time in school history. You are matching-up with a team has since gone on a 2-game schnied, albeit both games coming on the road... and you are traveling across the state to face them at their house. If the UT fans have anything to say about this game, it won't be a pretty one to watch.

Iowa St. at Oklahoma 8pm CT ESPN 360

Iowa St. has lost two straight. They are 1-3 in conference. Oklahoma has lost two straight. They are 2-3 in conference.
U.G.L.Y. you aint got no alibi, you ugly. Yo mama said you ugly.
Oklahoma's depth and guard play should be the difference in this one.

Nebraska at Colorado 8pm MT FSN Rocky Mountain

There was a time when the CU-NU football game, which is historically played the Friday after Thanksgiving, meant something. It would oftentimes determine who would represent the Big 12 North in the conference championship game. This game doesn't quite match-up to that hype. In fact the two teams are a combined 1-8 in conference. The only thing this game might determine is who will get the first pick in next year's draft. But since winning on the road is as tough in the Big 12 as anywhere else in the country, I am predicting a 0-0 tie.
