You have to be right
Truthfully A&M only has one bad loss, at home vs Rice. Otherwise Mississippi St, Florida and Baylor are good teams. Conversely, they don’t have any marquee wins and the worst SOS of any B12 team (338 out of 345 teams according to Sagarin).
How good is the Big 12 if A&M is 8th in the Power Rankings… and don’t call me Shirley.

I hope not
I surely hope they do not stay down for long. There success helps the whole conference’s RPI, SOS, and can be considered a quality win. That game last nigth was tough to watch. They shot under 30% and if that continues they might stay in the bottom of the big 12 all year. Love that the coaches picked them to tie for 1st in the conference. Just shows how meaningless rankings and pre season polls really are.
(Except Big 12 Hoops rankings)
(those are always on point.)

agreed
You guys usually do get it right. Seems like this could be the best big 12 year ever with the round robin format.
Hot seat?
that will come next year. You can’t really fire someone for one bad season and an injured player. We were picked 7th in the league preseason. It isn’t like we’ve fallen from the top or anything. Plus with Smart coming in next year who by all accounts is more talented than nash and has his head on straight, you can’t risk letting him go. Not to mention his buy out is enormous. Lots coming back and a legit 5 star coming next year. Most logical osu fans realized next year was going to be the year before this season even started.
I'll concede
Hot seat might still be an exaggeration, but his numbers aren’t there. He can recruit big name players, but he simply can’t win. Or hasn’t won. Never higher than 7th seed in conference tourney. .500 all time conference record. At some point you have to look past who someone is bringing in and at what they have done on the court.
I’m not calling for his head… but I’m keeping a close watch on the Cowboys.

overall you’re right, but he has won some big games as well as three 20 win seasons. Also baylor had no problem keeping Drew around when all he could do was recruit. Its paying off this year, so it isn’t unheard of. Next year is his hot seat year and I think he will be fired if we struggle again. The talent was there this year but we were relying on lots of freshman and a very under performing 5 star. With these new schollys opened up Travis desperately needs to grab a shooter and a distributor. Only 1 player has averaged more than 3 assists since travis has been here and every other year we’ve ranked in the bottom 10 in assists per game as a team. That has been a huge problem.
The one disagreement I have
Is that Baylor had no tradition of winning, so keeping Drew on board wasn’t as difficult as it will be at OSU, where they have won before.
But again, at this stage I’m basically just stirring things up.
