Matt Painter has turned down Missouri and will remain coach of the Purdue men's basketball team, a source with knowledge of the situation tells ESPN.com's Andy Katz.

Painter and Missouri athletic director Mike Alden met Tuesday morning in Orlando, Fla., to discuss the Tigers' opening. Painter was offered the job but did not say either way at that time whether he'd take it.
