Texas Tech Gets 2nd Straight Big 12 Win with Victory Over Iowa State 92-83

Welcome to the 2010-2011 season Texas Tech everyone had been wondering where you were. Last night in Ames, Iowa the Red Raiders stormed into Hilton Coliseum and defeated the Iowa State Cyclones by a score of 92-83.

Texas Tech was led in scoring by Mike Singletary who easily had his best game so far this year as he went off for 33 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. He finished 12-18 overall from the floor and a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe. Singletary was not a one man show as all five Tech starters finished in double figures.

The lead was only four at intermission and Iowa State cut it to two right after the start of the second half. The Red Raiders then went on a 11-0 run to push the lead out to 48-35. The Cyclones would push the lead down to five on separate occasions but could not ever fully overcome the hole they put themselves in.

The Cyclones were led in scoring by Diante Garrett who scored 27 points. Scott Christopherson had an off night from three point range as he went 1-6 from deep and finished with only 9 points.

The win is the second straight in Big 12 play for the Red Raiders while Iowa State has dropped three consecutive league games coming off their impressive victory over Baylor.

Next up for possibly surging Red Raiders is Oklahoma State while the Cyclones get a chance for redemption against Oklahoma.
