Something to be said for stability - One-year stars are nice to have, but so are seniors

The one-and-done guys and the 4 & 5 year guys both have their place
in modern college ball. But the best guys by far are the 4 year guys who THEN go on to be standout NBA players. There is no way to overstate the contribution guys like Paul Pierce, Fred Hoiberg, and Chauncy Billips have made to their schools’ basketball programs. Those are the kind of guys every head coach dreams of finding.
Wait, I don't understand
Chauncey was at CU 2 years, Pierce three years in Lawrence and The Mayor 4 years. Are you just saying anyone who has stayed over one year?

Anyone know if there is still the 5/8 rule?
Or whatever it was, where you can only have 5 freshman in a year and 8 over a two year span? I know it was something like that, but the numbers might be slightly off.
I remember Bob Knight having an issue with it when he was coaching because of one and done guys messing up the numbers. Was that overturned?
