I, along with hundreds of others, streamed out of the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock tonight at the under 12:00 media timeout with our Red Raiders down 30. It felt like the "walk of shame". It felt like such a charade. I mean, if the players and coaches can’t do a better job…and the fans are apathetic…then why even bother? It makes me sad. We have a wonderful basketball facility and a fan base that, while certainly not the most basketball crazy in the conference, has supported winners in the past. When The General was leading the team, attending the basketball games was something that you scheduled for. Now that Pat is at the helm, I can’t help but feel that fans are scheduling around the games. Frankly, I don’t blame them. But the worst part of it is, I can’t help but think that it will only get worse before it gets any better. We start four seniors (who have been very disappointing) and our underclassmen aren’t exactly McDonald’s All-Americans. The rest of the Big 12 has passed us by.
2:13 is not just a verse in the bible…it was also Tech’s assist to turnover ratio tonight. But they made up for it by being out rebounded 39-23. Oh yeah, they also shot 0-11 from beyond the arc.

Tough time to be a Red Raider hoops fan.
I have a feeling they will be getting a new coach after this year. And with that will come at least hope for a better hoops future for the Red Raiders.
