Big 12 Coaches - Then & Now

Change has been a hot topic in the Big 12 the past few months with two teams leaving the conference and many others that were rumored to be. With the conference intact for what some think to be at least ten more years I thought it would be interesting to just go back five years and see who the basketball coaches were for each respective program and how much change has taken place in that aspect. So presented below is the head coaches for each school going into the 2005-2006 seasons and whom the current head coach is for the upcoming 2010-2011 season.

Star-divide

Kansas Jayhawks

2005-2006 season - Bill Self

2010-2011 season -  Bill Self

Chance Bill Self will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 90%

May only be tempted by an offer to the pros otherwise he is at a premier program.

Kansas State Wildcats

2005-2006 season - Jim Woolridge

2010-2011 season - Frank Martin

Chance Frank Martin will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 75%

Has talked of great loyalty to KSU, odds are good will stick around.

Missouri Tigers

2005-2006 season - Quin Snyder

2010-2011 season -  Mike Anderson

Chance Mike Anderson will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 80%

Turned down job offers last two offseasons, odds are he stays in Columbia for long haul.

Oklahoma State Cowboys

2005-2006 season - Eddie Sutton

2010-2011 season -  Travis Ford

Chance Travis Ford will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 40%

Have a feeling Ford may try to jump for higher job if he can find it.

Oklahoma Sooners

2005-2006 season - Kelvin Sampson

2010-2011 season -  Jeff Capel

Chance Jeff Capel will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 10%

Have a good feeling that Capel is renting and not buying in the Norman area.

Texas Longhorns

2005-2006 season - Rick Barnes

2010-2011 season -  Rick Barnes

Chance Rick Barnes will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 75%

Seems like Barnes will coach awhile longer and he has a good thing going in Austin

Texas A&M Aggies

2005-2006 season - Billy Gillispie

2010-2011 season - Mark Turgeon

Chance Mark Turgeon will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 50%

Always tough at a football school, think chance he could bolt for better job.

Texas Tech Red Raiders

2005-2006 season - Bobby Knight

2010-2011 season - Pat Knight

Chance Pat Knight will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 45%

Higher odds than some may think, his dad was there for quite a few years.

Baylor Bears

2005-2006 season - Scott Drew

2010-2011 season - Scott Drew

Chance Scott Drew will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 65%

Built Baylor from ground zero, deserves to stay if he doesn't take better gig.

Nebraska Cornhuskers

2005-2006 season - Barry Collier

2010-2011 season - Doc Sadler

Chance Doc Sadler will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 1%

The coach I don't know if he is around to see the 2011-2012 season.

Iowa State Cyclones

2005-2006 season - Wayne Morgan

2010-2011 season - Fred Hoiberg

Chance Fred Hoiberg will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 60%

Would be hard for Iowa State to dismiss The Mayor, good chance he sticks.

Colorado Buffaloes

2005-2006 season - Ricardo Patton

2010-2011 season - Tad Boyle

Chance Tad Boyle will be there when 2015-2016 season rolls around - 25%

Five years is a long time for someone in this program, odds aren't great.

I didnt vote for Self...

… but he is probably the best bet. It is tough to move up the coaching ladder past KU so he’ll probably be there for the long haul.

I voted for Drew though. I think his passion for Baylor athletics, and his seemingly deep religious ties, will make hima Baylor lifer.
