A trio of guards - Denis Clemente (Kansas State), James Anderson (Oklahoma State) and Xavier Henry (Kansas) - have been chosen as the Phillips 66 Big 12 Players and Rookie of the Week, respectively, for games of Feb. 15-21 in voting by a panel of media covering the Conference.  Clemente and Anderson win their second player honor of 2009-10, while Henry is picked as top rookie for the third time.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Clemente averaged 24.0 points as Kansas State defeated Nebraska (91-87) and won at Oklahoma (83-68).  The senior guard shot 53.1 percent (17-of-32) from the floor, including 9-of-19 (.474) from 3-point range.  He also hit 83.3 percent (5-of-6) from the free throw line, with nine assists, three rebounds and three steals.  He scored more than 20 points in each outing and has done so in four of his last five games.  

James Anderson, Oklahoma State, Jr., G, 6-6, 205, Junction City, Ark./Junction City
Anderson scored 20 points in a win at Iowa State (69-64) and followed with a 31-point effort in an 82-75 home victory over No. 22 Baylor.  The junior guard averaged 25.5 points and shot 50.0 percent (15-of-30) in two outings, including 60.0 percent (9-of-15) from beyond the arc.  He connected on 12-of-17 (.706) free throws, while adding 20 rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals.   The 30-point game was the ninth of his career, the fifth-best total on the Big 12 all-time list.  

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Xavier Henry, Kansas, Fr., G, 6-6, 220, Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City
Henry helped Kansas extended its win streak to 12 with victories at Texas A&M (59-54) and over Colorado (94-74).  The freshman guard finished with 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, shooting 12-of-25 (.480) from the field.  He was 4-of-8 (.500) from 3-point range and made 8-of-11 (.727) from the charity stripe.  He had his best performance in conference play with a 24-point effort versus CU and is now averaging 16.8 points in his last four games.
