Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series Tally: WAIT! Can The Pac-10 Tie The Series Edition

Big 12 - 6
Pac-10 - 4

After having a commanding lead in the Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series, the Big 12's lead has slowly eroded, and with two games remaining, the conference is in jeopardy of squandering what seemed like an insurmountable lead.

Now we have to wait until next Saturday to find out...

Arizona Wildcats - 83
Oklahoma Sooners - 60

The Arizona Wildcats (7-1) jumped out to an early lead and maintained it as they cruised to victory in Tuscon, AZ. For the game the Cats shot 55.8% from the field, including 68.8% from three point land.

Derrick Williams led 'Zona with 16 points and was assisted by Solomon Hill's 10, as the only two in double figures for the team. Hill and Jesse Perry paced the Cats with 5 rebounds apiece.

For the visiting Sooners (3-5) Andrew Fitzgerald led all scorers with a career-high 22 points while playing 38 of the 40 minutes.

Oklahoma has now lost five straight after opening the season 3-0.

USC Trojans - 73
Texas Longhorns - 56

What looked on paper like a game the Horns should easily win, turned in to quite the opposite.  USC got out to an early and withstood a Longhorn charge to win the game.

Texas was led in scoring by J'Covan Brown with 17 points. Gary Johnson led the team in rebounding with eight.

USC was paced by Nikola Vucevic who scored 24. Alex Stepheson led the team in rebounding.

A complete schedule of the entire Big 12 / Pac-10 Hardwood Series, including scores of completed games is available after The Jump.

I like the Big 12 chances in both remaining games

I’d think differently if both weren’t at Big 12 arenas… (actually Ok State should beat Standford regardless of where they are)
