Well it was not a perfect day in the Big 12 like we have seen before with a couple of the highly ranked members of the conference going down in defeat. There were bright spots though with Texas getting a big win over North Carolina, Texas A&M winning in OT and the country getting their first look at Josh Selby. So while it was not a perfect day there was alot of good basketball action that helped fill your Saturday.
USC 68 @ (3) Kansas 70 - The Jayhawks held on for yet another home victory. The main story was the debut of Josh Selby who hit a key 3 pointer late to give KU the lead, he finished with 21 points to lead the team.
(25) Texas A&M 71 vs Arkansas 62 - In what was maybe the most exciting game of the day, A&M had to go to overtime to beat the Razorbacks. Khris Middleton scored 31 points and was simply outstanding all game long. Aggies quietly have moved their record to 10-1.
(6) Kansas State 44 vs (24) Florida 57 - See full recap here.
(25) Texas 78 vs. North Carolina 76 - A huge win for the Longhorns playing the Tar Heels in Greensboro, NC in front of a pro-Carolina crowd. Cory Joseph hit the game winning shot with 1.4 seconds to quiet the crowd. The Longhorns came back from five points down with around 4 minutes to go to get the victory.
(9) Baylor 64 vs. Gonzaga 68 - A huge win for Gonzaga to help boost their NCAA Tourney chances later and the first loss on the year for the Bears. Perry Jones led Baylor with 19 points while LaceDaruis Dunn added 17 points but on 4-13 shooting.
Oklahoma State 68 vs Alabama 60 - The Cowboys led by 14 points at the half and withstood some Crimson Tide runs late to hold on for the victory. Keiton Page led all scorers with 20 points, Marshall Moses was held to just 9 points.
Eastern Washington 42 @ Nebraska 72 - The Cornhuskers led by 11 at halftime and broke it open in the second half to claim another easy victory over an outmatched oppenent. Jorge Brian Diaz led Nebraska with 14 points.
Central Arkansas 63 @ (12) Missouri 116 - The Tigers set a Mizzou Arena record for most points scored breaking the old record of 107 points. Marcus Denmon had 21 points and SIX other Tigers scored in double figures.
Texas Tech 71 @ UTEP 82 - And the struggles for Pat Knight and the Red Raiders continue with another loss to an in-state opponent. Trailing by only 2 at half, Tech could not overcome Randy Culpepper who scored 28 points for UTEP.
Oklahoma 56 vs. Cincinnati 66 - Well another loss for Jeff Capel and the Sooners, this one pushes their record below five hundred at 5-6. Oklahoma finished the game 4-22 from behind the arc and could not ever catch up with Cincinnati who held a 7 point halftime lead that they wouldn't relinquish.
