Big 12 NBA Player of the Week - Week 3
Despite not having two "DID YOU SEE THAT?" dunks in one game, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley is this week's Big 12 NBA Player of the Week.
For the week, the former Kansas St. Wildcat averaged 27.8 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 2 assist per game and 1.3 blocks per game.
Despite Beasley's stellar play, the Wolves went 1-3 on the week with losses to Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Bobcats and Los Angeles Lakers. Sandwiched between was a victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. In the win, Beasley hit the game winning jumper with 2.3 seconds remaining, and registered 33 points during the outing (see the shot after The Jump).
"I think I'm getting there," Beasley said of on being "the man" in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. "Every game coach is finding the confidence in me to close out games. But we've got so many guys that can knock down shots. We're just waiting for our numbers to be called."
