The Weekend in Big 12 Basketball

Two of the top teams in the conference found themselves on the wrong end of the scoreboard, and for Texas it was the second loss of the week (Survivor Big XII implications perhaps?).

The rest of the conference pretty much went as you would expect.

After The Jump scores, recaps and players of the games for all of the weekend's action.

But first, highlights of Iowa State's Marquis Gilstrap dunking over Kansas' Cole Adlrich. Twice.

If Kansas center Cole Aldrich's junior season hadn't hit bottom, it was certainly getting there. Not only was Aldrich in the midst of a midseason slump, the recent death of his grandmother weighed heavily on his mind.

Aldrich snapped out of his funk with a performance that, until recently, was what folks expected from him. He tied a season high with 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as No. 3 Kansas cruised past Iowa State 84-61 on Saturday for its fourth straight win.

Short-handed and far from home, Oklahoma State did something it hadn't done since Eddie Sutton played for the Cowboys.

James Anderson scored 30 points and Obi Muonelo hit two key 3-pointers in the final minutes Saturday, lifting underdog Oklahoma State to a 73-69 victory over No. 10 Kansas State. It had been just six days since the crestfallen Wildcats (16-3, 3-2 Big 12) beat No. 1 Texas on the same floor.
