There is no way that Willie Warren should be on any of those teams

Not for his play so far this season

I knew that would draw the most ire… 5th in the league in scoring and 4th in assists (with 3.4 rpg). I think his issue is that everyone thought he was going to be far and away the best layer in the league, and he isn’t.

Good representation...

Every school except Nebraska and Oklahoma State. But, James Anderson leads the conference in PPG. He was robbed!

OH SNAP!

He should be first or second, you are right. Maybe based on Jon Woods’ comment, move James Anderson to first, Willie to second.

I would like that better

What about coaches?

They always seem to get shafted in the mid-season awards but they are just as responsible for the success and failures of their programs.

What is this based on? Performance? Potential? A little of both?

drussell420 – good call on the coaches

James Anderson should be in Willie’s Spot. Willie should be 2nd or 3rd team.

I’d also move English to the 3rd team, and Brackins up to the 2nd team. Brackins gets more rebounds and blocks.

There’s my East Coast (of the Missouri River) bias.

Burks is another to look for

9th in the league in scoring. Gets 5 boards/game, as a guard….

by Mark Kieffer on Jan 14, 2010 4:23 PM CST reply actions

yeah

Burks is good.

The Big 12 has some pretty good looking frosh this year and I only see two as bolting after the season.

Get us a second Buff!

No way I would have Warren on the first team

He’s got to be the biggest underachiever of the season so far in the conference

No Donald Sloan???

3rd highest scorer and 5th best FG% in the Big 12 and you remove him from the THIRD team???? After you watch him battle Mizzou maybe you will reconsider.

Tweety Carter

Can dish the rock and still put up points. His numbers are low because he’s sat out a few games (only played 16), but he’s still 3rd in assists and has more points than Udoh. He’s top 5 in percentage from the stripe, 7th in percentage from the field, and top 5 in total 3s.

Missing games might keep him off this list, but his consistency on the court (when the Bears have him) is an asset… he can not only see the court and set up others to score, but he has the ability to put some significant points down if neglected.

Looking forward to the game in a few weeks when the LoLnghorns go to Waco.
