Big Evening for the Big XII

Setting aside the non-marquis wins and gruesome injuries, the Big XII set the national stage a fire last night.

The top two teams in the country, #1 Kansas and #2 Texas, put on a show in front of national television audiences.

Starting with the early game, the Longhorns, held off #9 Sparty in Austin 79-68 in a hard fought grudge match.  MVP of the game was Damion James who scored 23 and grabbed 15 boards. (This W comes in the same week the ‘Horns knocked off the Spartans '09 national championship game foe UNC Tar Heels).

Full analysis of the game can be found over at Burnt Orange Nation.

Following the first Big 12 victory, the Kansas Jayhawks dismantled the Cal Bears at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence 84-69.

Sherron Collins led the way in that game with 17 points and Big12Hoops.com All Decade first teamer Cole Adrich added 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks.
